Using a unique bonding process, Winchester’s PDX One Defender ammunition is a popular choice for self-defense. The copper jacket and lead core have been welded together—which makes for better weight retention and maximal expansion upon impact. These hollow point rounds offer an expansion rate of 1.5 times the size of the original bullet, with notching in the copper jacket that creates six equal segments. These segments allow for uniform expansion, while the bonded core and jacket make for better barrier penetration. These rounds have been tested against stringent FBI standards and use the same technology as the rounds favored by the FBI. Winchester’s .357 Mag PDX One Defender rounds feature a 125-grain jacketed hollow point projectile in boxer-primed, noncorrosive, reloadable nickel-plated brass cases. Each box contains 20 rounds of .357 Mag by Winchester.
